Welder

Spicewood FabWorks is looking to hire a Welder who is capable of being on their own. This means you would do a little bit of everything- welding, grinding, painting, moving materials, setting up and breaking down each day, etc.

This is a contract (1099) position and pay is based upon experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

•         Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications

•         Utilize power tools and equipment, including saws, grinders, drill press, paint sprayers, power washer, etc.

•         Use precision measuring tools

•         Layout and prep raw materials to weld

•         Clamp and tack-weld materials before final welding

•         Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions

•         Maintain proper equipment and work space; repair equipment as needed and clear work space every day

Requirements and Qualifications

•         High school diploma or equivalent

•         Must be at least 18 years old

•         Legal to work in the United States

•         Degree from an accredited welding program preferred, but not required

•         MIG welding experience a must, Tig is a plus but not necessary

•         Experience with welding aluminum and/or stainless a plus, but not necessary

•         Working knowledge of standard welding tools and techniques

•         Able to read design plans
